„Lithuania in Action: Contemporary Lithuanian Press Photography“ exhibition in Tallinn on September 18th – October 31st
On September 18th – October 31st, the exhibition „Lithuania in Action: Contemporary Lithuanian Press Photography“ will be displayed in museum “Kiek in de Kök” in Tallinn.
The national contest of the Lithuanian Press Photography has been held annually for more than ten years. This exhibition includes the winning photos of the contest from the last several years by Ramūnas Danisevičius, Tomas Lukšys, Saulius Žiūra, Eugenijus Kavaliauskas as well as works by other photographers.
Evaluated by an international jury, this collection of the best works by Lithuanian press photographers reflects both the various aspects of the dynamic life in Lithuania and the creative pursuits of the photographers. These photos represent the traditional categories of the contest: News, Life, Portrait, Culture, Diplomacy, Entertainment, Sports, Army, Nature and Environment, Glamour and Photo Story/Reportage.
The organizers of contest believe that works of the best Lithuanian press photographers will be viewed and evaluated by the coming generations, who will search there for moments of those bygone times worthy to be preserved in the history of both Lithuania and Europe as a whole.
This exhibition in Tallinn is organized by the Lithuanian Embassy to Estonia and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. The exhibition is collected and completed by the Lithuanian Press Photographers’ Club and supported by the Lithuanian Culture Support Foundation as well as by people of good will.
The exhibition is open for viewers on Tuesdays-Sundays at 10.30-18.00 hrs. in museum “Kiek in de Kök”, Komandandi 2, Tallinn.
