Jazz is taking over Tallinn's Old Town!
All the jazz friends have now one more reason to wait for the summer - the ancient walls of Tallinn's Old Town are going to be echoing from the smooth jazz rhythms when Estonia's first admission free international open air jazz festival JazzOn is going to take place.
One might wonder - what's JazzOn? It's a brand-new admission free open air jazz festival targeting young bright minds. On every evening from 29th of June till the 1st of July we're bringing you the fresh and well-known talents - all together 12 outstanding artists from eight different countries under the summer sky of Tallinn's Old Town!
Young music fans will be entertained by Deniss Pashkevich from Latvia who has shared the stage with the world's leading jazz artists and a comet from the British music scene, Lund Quartet, among others.
In addition, you will hear a joint project of Tõnu Naissoo and Swedish Flugelhorn player, Ellman Larsson, and be carried away by several other Latvian and Lithuanian nujazz and jazz-funk collectives.
"In its heart, JazzOn is something simple and beautiful" said JazzON main organizer Maur Mere, who sees the festival as one big gift wrapped in the backdrop of Tallinn's Old Town. "We want to give people the gift of beautiful music and pleasant moments. Share the Love! That's all there is to it" adds Mere.
Ivo Lille, a well known saxophonist and one of the performers at festival compliments, "I have always been supportive of the idea of creating a music festival with a great atmosphere in a summery old town. I like the variety and internationality of the program, especially the fact that our neighbours from the Baltics are represented."
JazzON is Estonia's first admission free open air, international jazz festival and the organizers hope to make it a tradition that marks the start of Estonian summer.
