Lithuania will join forces with Estonia and seek new solutions in 2018 to improve security of the Baltic states. On 11 January in Vilnius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius and Estonian Foreign Minister Sven Mikser held a meeting to discuss the issue.
Estonia has completed its presidency of the Baltic Council of Ministers and passed it over to Lithuania. At the meeting of the Baltic Council of Ministers in Estonia on December 18, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis pointed out Lithuania’s key priorities.
On 10 November, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius received an award for promoting the Baltic states’ unity and cooperation. The medal of the Baltic Assembly (BA) was awarded at a joint meeting of the Baltic Assembly and the Baltic Council of Ministers (BCM) in Tallinn.
